Connector – bridging ideas, people, and opportunities

thriving downtowns.

Downtown development and revitalization are essential to creating vibrant, walkable communities where people want to live, work, and connect. A thriving downtown isn’t just about buildings; it’s about creating spaces that feel alive, safe, and welcoming. By investing in these areas, cities can breathe new life into their historic cores, attract businesses, and foster a sense of pride among residents. Thoughtful urban design and community-centric planning create downtown spaces that are inviting and accessible to everyone.

local brands.

Local brands play a unique role in building the character of a community. They bring a distinct personality and charm to neighborhoods, drawing residents and visitors alike to experience something genuine and homegrown. Unlike national chains, local businesses often reflect the values and culture of the community, making people feel connected to the area and to each other. Whether it’s a family-owned café, a local boutique, or a new restaurant concept, these brands create a magnetic pull, fostering relationships and becoming the social fabric of the neighborhood.

local investment.

When we invest in local businesses and downtown revitalization, we’re investing in the heart of a community. By supporting local brands and creating spaces that encourage human connection, cities can foster a sense of belonging and identity. Downtowns become places where people gather, celebrate, and find common ground—ultimately strengthening the community and giving it a lasting legacy.

a few of my favorite topics:

what transportation tells you about a city.

20 years of traveling will teach you a thing or two about other cultures, cities and urban design. as a hospitality centric commercial real estate professional, I cannot help myself in absorbing the beauty of thoughtful urban design in my travels and contemplating ways to launch and inspire such development in the Southeast United States.

the art of discovery.

and how we can all be inspired by indiana jones. i found myself recently driving home from a company meeting to look up at see a graffiti mural of an “eye.” I’ve always been fascinated with eyes: the round shape, the things that have been seen and can be seen. my kids laugh at me, as they often point out that I make connections and see things that many others don’t. it’s the art of discovery and i love it.

curiosity is our superpower.

my mom tells me that I learned to read at 4 despite my need for glasses, there were simply not enough books you could put in front of me. while DC Andrews and Harry Potter caught my eye early, I quickly moved into biographies and leadership books about how to inspire people.
